Predicting treatment outcomes in hand and wrist disorders.
Personalized information on the expected treatment results for clinicians and patients.
Hand and wrist disorders have a high prevalence and can severely impact functioning in daily life. In many cases, multiple treatment options are available, both surgically and non-surgically. To help patients and clinicians choose the most suitable treatment option for a patients’ individual situation, personalized information on the expected treatment results would be valuable. This project aims to develop and validate models that predict improvement in symptoms for patients considering treatment for hand and wrist disorders. After validation, these models will be implemented in daily practice. Subsequently, we will investigate the impact of prediction models on treatment outcomes of future patients and on the process of delivering clinical care.
