Personal
Research area
Representative of the PhD students in the scientific staff: Hanneke Braakhuis (June 2019 – June 2020) and Lianne de Vries (June 2020 – June 2021).
This is what I am most proud of
In 2019, the function of Linking-Pin is initiated at the department. The Linking-Pin is the representative of the PhD students in the scientific staff, thereby increasing the involvement of PhD students in the staff.
At the same time, Meet-the-Professor sessions were initiated. These are bi-monthly (and later bi-annual) meetings with the head of the department and the PhD students. The aim of the sessions is to enhance involvement of the PhD students in the department by discussing topics and exchanging information related to research and department policy. Both the PhD students and the head of the department consider the sessions as valuable and the sessions will be continued.
Milestones for the coming 2 years
In the upcoming 2 yours we will compose a starting document for new PhD students at the department. The PhD students and supervisor(s) will be involved in the development of the document. The document will comprise topics related to supervision, evaluation and development of the PhD student and will serve as a guideline for both the PhD student and the supervisor(s) during the entire PhD project.
